বিশ্বের সর্ববৃহৎ কার্বন নিঃসরণকারী দেশ হচ্ছে চীন। তারা বলছে, কার্বন নিঃসরণ সর্বোচ্চ মাত্রায় পৌঁছাবে ২০৩০ সালে। দেশটির লক্ষ্য, ২০৩০ সালের মধ্যে তাদের শক্তি উৎপাদনের ২৫ শতাংশ আসবে ফসিলজাত নয় এমন জ্বালানি থেকে। চীন অঙ্গীকার করেছে, ২০৬০ সালের মধে তারা কার্বন-নিরপেক্ষ দেশ হবে।
